Hi everyone,

have just received this forwarded through from Bristol and West Athletics Club and wondered if anyone would like to put a team together for it?

"As part of the celebration of the 50th running of the Mike Sully X-country

race on Sunday 22nd November, there is a mob match for local clubs. Any

club can enter and the first 10 runners home count for each club. Entries

are free, and runners just turn up on the day. It would be helpful if clubs

fielding a team let the organiser know that they wish to enter a team. The

race distance is 4K, the race time 2.00, and the event is held on the Downs

between Clifton Zoo and Ladies mile.

If clubs are interested and intend to field a team, I will forward their

intention to the race organiser.

Well, I entered this race along with Scott C in the end (getting to Cirencester involved a ridiculously early start and would have cost as much as the Ashton Court entry fee anyway) and was pleasantly surprised. Was a good atmosphere as you might expect from such an event, and it's always nice running in Ashton Court. Also great to have the last 2k all downhill! Well done to Scott who came 2nd in a field of about a thousand - hopefully the Evening Post, Run 10k and Heart FM Bristol will have some photos of us up on their websites soon to prove we were there!

Hi

I am still planning to run the route suggested in 2 weeks (sunday 2/8/09)starting at Gardiner Haskins car park. I will be there at 9.15 for a 9.30 start. I can carry small amounts of kit ( i have arranged to take my car). I plan to stop @ Bitton Station and will end at one of two pubs in the west of Bristol (Royal Oak on Lower Bristol Road or Hop Pole on Upper Bristol Road both are near cycle path)

There is a return train @13.29 from Oldfield Park to Temple Meades (£5.80 single)

Please let me know if you will be joining Sam and I. It would be good if we can run in pairs of similar ability.

Rob

For further details see me this week

Well done to everyone tonight. Tom's 38.15, Lucy and Tracey's pb's, both sub 43 - sorry ladies but I can't remember exactly. It was a bit puddly so the main question is how did Sam manage not to have any splashes on his long shorts...answers to this site?

I didn't run last night due to tonight's 10k, so no backing out now. Bring it on! (Positivity levels bound to drop in an hour or so when I'm stood in Greville Smyth Park in the p*ssing rain)...

Hi, I recently started running again after a while out injured and been running with you guys on Tues/Thurs 3 times so far. I thought I'd try my luck with the Blazer too, really enjoyed it although I should have brought my inhaler for the final hill! Should be back next month for the final instalment and would love to be representing Southville.
